Dear Prayer Warriors,

Thank you for your prayers for the special meetings at Efata Baptist Church with evangelist Jim Sloan. The Lord blessed with good attendance, including some deaf friends who haven¡¦t come to church in years. Victoria went forward as soon as the invitation was given on Friday night and made a good profession of faith in Christ. Sunday night she was there again and asked when the regular services of the church were. This is a busy seamstress who always before said she couldn¡¦t come to church because she had so much work to do. God does change lives! There were also several others in the church who went forward to make things right with the Lord and those who promised to be obedient to Him. Please pray that we will fulfill those vows with God¡¦s help and that more deaf friends will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

We also enjoyed sharing with Brother Joe Kotvas, missionary to the deaf in Lima. Please pray for their ministry, that it would continue to grow and bear fruit. Pray, too, as Brother Joe counsels with our former pastor, Serafin, and his family. They are still in the process of restoration and a lot of wisdom from the Lord is needed.

The biopsy results from that my allergy rash have come back as an allergy to the sun. That is not good news for someone who has always thrived in the tropics! The dermatologists are not in agreement as to the course of treatment I should follow. Please pray for wisdom as I seek to know what the Lord would have me to do about it all. If things get too bad, I always have the option of flying to Lima and getting some relief there. It almost all disappeared during the 10 days I was in Lima last month. The Lord could simply heal me if that were His will, so I am asking Him for that as well. fº

Today the Baptist churches began Easter meetings with special speakers. It will culminate in a unified Sunday meeting in the coliseum. I enjoy seeing believers from the other churches, worshiping together, and listening to good preaching and teaching from God¡¦s Word. The spiritual feast continues!

Thank God for the gift of His precious Son! We are not worthy, but He gave Himself in love. Such love! Then He arose from the grave and ascended on high. Such power! What a wonderful Savior!

Have a blessed Easter!

With love in Christ,
Lynn Porter
