Dear Prayer Warriors,
Greetings in our Savior's name! Again, I thank you for your prayers. The
radiation treatments continue normally with few side effects. Praise the
Lord! There are only ten more treatments remaining.
Thank you for praying for the Cassidys in Iquitos. The Lord helped them
give their testimonies before the judge. Now they are waiting for her
decision. In the last email we received from them, they had been granted
permission to take an 11-day river trip. Please pray for their ministry in
the river villages and for the motors to work well.
Sunday evening services at Efata Baptist Church have increased back to 28 or
so. Please continue to pray for Pastor Abraham and Patsy, for their
understanding of deaf culture and sign language, for Patsy's health, and for
clarity in their teaching of God's Word.
As my treatments come to an expected end, I have been praying about making a
trip to Peru in January. My doctors have all given me their consent.
Please pray I will make wise decisions. Jan. 9-14 there is a training
conference in Lima that I plan to attend, and then I will need to see about
my documents. After that I should be able to visit Iquitos to see the
ministry and hopefully be an encouragement to them. Lord willing, I'll be
gone about a month.
Tonight was the first night of the missionary conference at my parents'
church, Calvary Baptist Church, in Oceanside. It was good to see Dr. Gary
Barker again. He was my pastor when I started out as a missionary. Now he
and Mariann are going to Zambia, Africa, as missionaries themselves. Pray
that the Lord would soon provide their support so they can be on their way.
Lord willing, I will be sharing my testimony at the banquet Saturday night.
May God bless you and encourage you. Keep looking up!
Your sister in Christ,
Lynn Porter
